A Passion for Music

Teacher's Student Activities

Module 1: Student Activities

Pre-Viewing Activity

After a class discussion about ideas students believe might be a part of a discussion on "a passion for music," have them individually think of five different types of musical styles and musicians/composers, and where their musical ideas may have come from.

Group Activity

In small groups, students use the Gallery to expand their look at where creative ideas and inspiration come from. From there, they will analyze their own sources of inspiration and pick one from which to collaboratively write song lyrics as a group.

Art: The Music of War
Social Studies: Music Makes Memories
Science/Health/Careers: Healing Music
