  Steve Case

"It just struck me as obvious that some day consumers would want to decide what they wanted to see and how they wanted to get it and not just be passive recipients sitting on a couch with a remote control watching television or picking up a newspaper. "

Fresh out of college, Steve Case became fascinated with interactive media, at a time when few Americans owned personal computers, and no personal computers came equipped with modems. He left a secure job with a corporate giant to sign on with a struggling game company in the volatile computer marketplace of the 1980s. Through his efforts, that company became America Online, the world's largest Internet provider. Under his leadership, AOL acquired media colossus Time Warner and created the largest media company in the world.

While still in his 30s, Steve Case was already a legend in corporate America. As the co-founder, CEO, and Chairman of AOL, Steve Case transformed how people all over the world communicate, learn and conduct business. America Online brought millions their first connection to the Internet and drove worldwide adoption of a medium that has become as much a part of everyday life as the telephone or television.

Steve Case saw the possibilities of interactivity long before the rest of the world caught up with him. Now he is applying his entrepreneurial vision to create an innovative model of consumer-driven health care through his new company, Revolution Health Group.
