Sidney Poitier was inducted into the American Academy of Achievement in a dinner ceremony held in Beverly Hills, California on November 6, 2014. The Gold Medal of the Academy was presented to Sidney Poitier by Awards Council member Oprah Winfrey (Academy Class of 1989).
